Walt's Main Street Story Tour

If you are a lover of Disneyland history, I have the perfect tour for you. Disneyland offers a tour that not only provides you with a lot of interesting Main Street USA facts, but it also takes you inside Walt Disney's apartment. If you are not already aware, Walt had an apartment above the fire station on Main Street USA. This was Walt's private space inside the park. If you glance in the window above the fire station while standing on Main Street USA, you will see a lamp. This lamp stays on in the window of the apartment as a symbol of Walt's never-ending presence in the parks. Standing and looking at the lamp has been and continues to be, one of my favorite places in all of Disneyland.

When I heard about the opportunity to book a tour that would give me a look inside the apartment, I couldn't pass up the chance. I feel like this tour is a must do for all Disney enthusiasts.

Walt's Main Street Story Tour can be booked 60 days in advance of your visit. Due to space limitations inside the apartment, each tour group is small. I believe we had 10 people in our tour. I would recommend you book early if this is a must do for you. While the tour does include a walk down Main Street USA, seeing inside the apartment is the main attraction. Learning the rich history of the apartment and how Walt utilized it both during the construction of Disneyland and after opening day, I was mesmerized. To be standing in the same location that Walt stood and gazing out the same window that he looked out, is a memory that I cherish. Guests are not permitted to take photos while inside the apartment, but a staff member from Disney PhotoPass is on hand to take photos of you in specific spots inside the apartment. The digital images are yours to keep as part of the tour price. For all you Disney fanatics out there, this is one to add to your bucket list.
