Did you know that Disney Parks allow you to bring in your own snacks and water? This can be a huge budget saver. A bottle of water costs almost $4 at a Disney Park? Given the temperatures in Florida and California and the importance of staying hydrated, the cost of water can quickly consume your family food budget.
Travel Tip: All quick-service restaurants provide water and ice to guests FREE of charge (even if you are not purchasing food). Simply ask a cast member for a cup of water.
Our family typically eats breakfast in our hotel (bagels, oatmeal, fruit, breakfast sandwiches) and then we pack our lunch/snacks into the park. Our favorite items to take into the park include peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, granola bars, jerky, trail mix, string cheese, grapes or mandarin oranges, fruit snacks, Pirate’s Booty and applesauce pouches. We typically eat one meal in the parks each day, usually dinner.
Another helpful tip is that adults can order off of the kid’s menu at any of the quick service dining locations. If you don’t have a big appetite this can be a great way to reduce food waste and to save a few dollars.
