Savi's Workshop and Droid Depot

Have you ever wanted to build your own custom lightsaber? Well, now you can! Savi's Workshop, located inside Galaxy's Edge, provides an opportunity for guests to construct their own lightsaber. The experience lasts about 20 minutes and the cost of each lightsaber is $200.00+. Each builder can bring one guest, but only the builder can build. The completed lightsabers are of high quality and are much sturdier and heavier than a "toy" lightsaber. A carrying case is included. Since you will be carrying the lightsaber around with you, you may want to make this an evening activity or one you do before going back to your hotel for a break. Evening pictures with the lightsabers in Galaxy's Edge are amazing and unique though, so you might want to keep it with you to capture some great photos once the sun goes down. Reservations for Savi's Workshop are highly recommended and can be made through the Disney app, the Disneyland website or the Disney World website.

You can also build your own Droid at the Droid Depot. You can choose between a BB-series unit or an R-series unit. Once complete, your droid will be paired with a remote control and activated. The droids use Bluetooth technology to interact with other droid units and objects around Batuu. The cost of making your own droid is $99.99+. Reservations are recommended and you can make them through the app, the Disneyland website or the Disney World website.

One thing to keep in mind when traveling home by plane is that lightsabers and droids count as a personal carry on item. Most airlines limit you to 1 piece of carry on luggage and 1 personal item. You will want to factor this in when determining what luggage you carry on board with you.
