A Few of My Favorite Things...

Every since I took my first Disney Cruise in 2016 on the Disney Wonder, I've been hooked. I love the water, the ships, the ports of call, the relaxation, I love it all! Don't get me wrong, I love the parks as well, but there is something about the calmness of a Disney Cruise that just speaks to me. I'm also convinced that I sleep better on a Disney Cruise than I do anywhere else. It might be the gentle rocking of the ship, or it might be the amazing beds. I love the beds so much that I ordered the same mattress for my house and had it shipped from Florida. Yes, I love the beds THAT MUCH!

Some people cruise for the food, I cruise for the trivia. I could play Disney trivia all day. Disney Tunes Trivia, Theme Park Trivia, Cruise Line Trivia, Disney Movie Trivia. Sign...Me...Up! It should be noted that the trivia is hard. I consider my family pretty knowledgable about all things Disney, and we find it challenging. We have been fortunate to win a few times, but we have lost many, many times. If you are lucky enough to win, you get a special Mickey Medallion. Wear them around the ship with pride, my friends. They are highly

desired by Disney Cruise Line fans.

As mentioned in a previous blog post, Disney Cruise Line is the only cruise line that launches fireworks directly from the ship (weather permitting). The fireworks are made of special biodegradable materials to minimize the environmental impact. Fireworks are launched from the starboard side. For the best view, grab a spot on the top deck with a clear view of the starboard side.

Note: Alaska regulations prohibit fireworks, so you will not experience Fireworks at Sea when sailing an Alaskan itinerary.

Each morning of your cruise, you can watch The Good Morning Show from the comfort of your stateroom. This is where the Cruise Director and the Assistant Cruise Director will highlight all the events that will be happening that day around the ship. They will share information about the evening shows, trivia, movies that are playing in the theatre, special events for kids, special events for adults, etc. The show lasts about 15 minutes and plays on a continuous loop from about 6am until noon. We watch and listen while we are getting ready for the day. While you can certainly find all the day's happenings by checking out the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app while on board, you don't want to miss the friendly banter and cheesy jokes that are sure to make you smile on The Good Morning Show. I look forward to it every day of our cruise.

Another feature exclusive to Disney Cruise Line is Rotational Dining. For dinner each night, you will rotate to one of the three main dining rooms. You will receive your dining schedule and table number once on board and you will be assigned to one of two seating times, either 5:45pm or 8:15pm. You can indicate your time preference during booking. Opposite your dining time, you will watch one of the exciting onboard stage shows. One of the best parts of rotational dining, other than the food of course, is your dining team. You will have the same dining team each night of your cruise. They will know your names, your likes and dislikes, your dietary restrictions, your favorite thing to drink, and more. No need repeating your preferences night after night, they will already know. The dining team works extremely hard to personalize every bit of your meal and they are exceptional. By the end of our cruise, our dining team is like an extended part of our family and yes, I have even been known to shed a tear or two when it is time to say, "good bye for now.".

There is nothing quite like a Disney Cruise for the ultimate combination of relaxation and Disney magic. Is it time for you to set sail on a Disney Cruise?
